Blogs can be used as an innovative knowledge platform for companies or educational institutions to present engaging ways to interact and provide feedback with research or policies.
“The strokes of the pen need deliberation as much as the sword needs swiftness." --Julia Ward Howe
When written effectively and deliberately, BLOG presentation platforms can make a profound impact to the company's mission, policy, and overall profile. This web-based technology can provide companies and institutions that may lack digital support systems a tool to support access to research, generation and uses of policies, channels for feedback or inquiries, and control of exposure to targeted stakeholders (Makkar, Howe, Williamson, & Gilham, 2016).
Relevance of the Content & Purpose of the Blog
When creating a blog, there must be purpose of the content and message that is to be perceived by readers. A blog is a great way to highlight key points from a specific career field and captivate your readers’ attention. When chunking or highlighting specific information, there is greater chance of engagement and retention. The information should also be updated and consistent with current trends. Information can be summarized or chunked on relevant keywords and relate back to overall purpose of website or business image. Blogs can link to social media platforms and add hashtags (Examples: #engineering #finance #ISD #HResources) throughout the posts to reach more people, and help visitors search for relevant content.
An example of a company that has had success in blogging, is LinkedIn which offers consistent insights to specific job industries, guidance for job seekers with support in effective resume creations. This site controls the intent of information with traffic among job seekers, recruiters, employers, and provides company data of demographics and working environments. The blog is found here: https://blog.linkedin.com/
Another example would be Buffer Social that provides consistent and updated resources to the field of social marketing to reach various levels of experience.

Blogging platform sites provide companies a voice, to let the business’ personality shine through. Think about the message, audience, topics of relevance, design, promotion intent, and multimedia support. A solid plan will make the process go smoothly for the company.

In using a BLOG as a presentation platform, consider the voice, image, and message that contributes to the overall message.
